Dr. Andrew F. Russo has over 20 years of teaching experience at the University of Iowa, where he taught neurobiology, molecular biology, human physiology, and cell biology. He has received the Collegiate Teaching Award and is currently the Medical Cell Biology course director as well as the Director of the Biosciences Graduate Program. Dr. Russo belongs to a number of professional organisations, including the American Physiological Society and the Society for Neuroscience. He holds a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley.

Professor Andrew’s research interests are in migraine molecular neurobiology. His decision to join the author team for Seeley’s Essentials of Human Anatomy and Physiology is the culmination of a lifelong interest in education that began in graduate school. He is ecstatic about the chance to pique students’ interest in learning by presenting cutting-edge clinical and scientific advances.
