Dr. Bruce Michael Alberts is a scientist at the University of California, San Francisco, and holds the Chancellor’s Leadership Chair in Biochemistry and Biophysics for Science and Education.
He has made significant contributions to our understanding of the protein complexes that allow for chromosomal replication when living cells divide. He is best known as the co-author of Molecular Biology of the Cell, a “canonical, important, and best-selling scientific textbook,” and as the Editor-in-Chief of Science magazine.
