Professor Murray Hilton teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in financial accounting. A Chartered Accountant with business degrees from Oregon State University and the University of Saskatchewan, he has authored three textbooks in advanced accounting topics. In addition, Professor Hilton has been very active in University and Faculty administration, having previously served as head of the Department of Accounting and Finance and currently serving as the Director of the Master of Accounting Program, and director of the Centre of Accounting Research and Education.
Murray has also been very involved with the accounting profession, teaching CMA and CA courses for many years, and serving on numerous provincial and national committees of both accounting bodies. In 1991, he received the FCA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba, and in 1994, he was made an honorary member of the Society of Management Accountants of Manitoba.
