Dr. Randy J. Larsen graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana with a Ph.D. in Personality Psychology in 1984. He earned the American Psychological Association’s Distinguished Scientific Achievement Award for Early Career Contributions to Personality Psychology in 1992, and the National Institute of Mental Health’s Research Scientist Development Award in 1987.
Professor Larsen has been on the editorial boards of the Journal of Research in Personality, Review of General Psychology, and the Journal of Personality, as well as being an associate editor at the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. Randy served on the National Institute of Mental Health and the National Research Council’s Scientific Review Groups. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Psychological Science. His research on personality has been supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Aging, the National Institute of Mental Health, the McDonnell Foundation for Cognitive Neuroscience, and the Solon Summerfield Foundation.
