Dr. Barbara Trenholm is a retired University of New Brunswick (UNB) professor. She is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D), as well as a Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) New Brunswick FCPA and FCA. Dr. Trenholm currently serves on the board of trustees of Plaza Retail REIT and the board of directors of New Brunswick Power.

She has served on the boards of Atomic Energy Canada Limited (AECL) and CPA Canada in the past (formerly the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants). Barbara is also a former president of CPA New Brunswick (previously the New Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants) and a former acting dean of UNB’s Faculty of Business Administration. She has also served on a number of international, national, regional, and local boards and committees as chair or member.
