Dr. David Young graduated from Florida State University with a Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter physics in 1998. He then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Princeton University’s Department of Chemistry and the Princeton Materials Institute before joining the faculty of Louisiana State University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy in 2000.
The synthesis and characterization of high-quality single crystals of innovative electrical and magnetic materials are the focus of his study. He has authored or co-authored nearly 200 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
Professor Young has won numerous accolades for exceptional undergraduate teaching.
