Dr. Deborah Carr is a demographer and an active teacher at Rutgers University, where she regularly teaches the introduction to sociology and psychology courses. Her work focuses on the sociology of the life course, gender, social psychology, and aging. Carr’s latest book, Worried Sick: How Stress Hurts Us and How to Bounce Back, looks at how stress makes us sick, gets under our skin, and how and why people cope with stress differently.
