Dr. Jonathan Berk is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and the A.P. Giannini Professor of Finance at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University.  Before coming to Stanford, Dr. Berk was the Sylvan Coleman Professor of Finance at Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. Before getting his Ph.D., Jon worked as an Associate at Goldman Sachs.

His research interests in finance include capital structure, mutual funds, corporate valuation, experimental economics, asset pricing, and labor economics. Professor Berk has won a number of research awards including the Smith Breeden Prize, Best Paper of the Year in The Review of Financial Studies, the TIAA-CREF Paul A. Samuelson Award, and the FAME Research Prize. Jon served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Finance, Academic Director of the Financial Management Association, Director of the Western Finance Association, and he is a Fellow of the Financial Management Association.
