Dr. Richard P. Appelbaum, the author and the MacArthur chair of Global Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, has won several awards for his teaching and excellent works mainly on globalization and labor issues. Appelbaum is the author/coauthor of Behind the Label, Essentials of Sociology [6th edition], and Introduction to Sociology (11th ed.) among others.
