Dr. Shelley E. Taylor is a Professor of psychology and teaches at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research interests are on health psychology and social cognition, particularly factors that facilitate long-term psychological adjustment.
Yale University awarded her a Ph.D. in social psychology. She is the co-director of UCLA’s Health Psychology programme in her previous role. Professor Taylor has received numerous honours, including the American Psychological Association’s Distinguished Scientific Contribution to Psychology Award, a National Institute of Mental Health 10-year Research Scientist Development Award, and an Outstanding Scientific Contribution Award in Health Psychology. She is the author of Social Cognition and Positive Illusions, as well as more than 200 articles and books.
