Dr. William F. Lawhead is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Mississippi. He holds a B.A. in philosophy from Wheaton College and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas, Austin. Lawhead has been teaching philosophy since 1970 and joined the University of Mississippi faculty in 1980, where he taught for more than 35 years.
Besides teaching philosophy at the University of Mississippi, William served as the chair of the Department of Philosophy and Religion for a number of years and was a member of the faculty of the Honors College. He received 3 awards for excellence in teaching and numerous grants for research in the humanities. In addition to conference presentations in philosophy, Dr. Lawhead has conducted many workshops on critical thinking and hypothesis testing for representatives from various international intelligence agencies. He has also published several textbooks as well as articles and ebook chapters on topics in the history of philosophy and philosophy of religion.
